That no change in the revised rates of allowances now recommended be made until a change of 10 points, upward or downward shall have taken place in the Retail Price Index Figuro as calculated for the 1st October, 1948, on the base of 100 for March, 1948; and that for every 10 point change in this Retail Price Index Figuro, upward or downward, the revised rates of cost of living allowances now recommended shall be increased or decreased, accordingly, by a sun ropresonting 5% of the basic salary, in each case of the offi.cors concerned.

That the revised scales of cost of living allowances now recommended be granted retrospectively as from 1st July, 1948.

(i) That the revised rates of allowance should be paid as follows:

100% thereof to married men with dependent children.

80% to married men without children.

60% to bachelors and female employees.

(ii) No recommendation on the subject of payment of allowances on leave.
